WHAT IS THE "ADOPT-A-CITY ACHIEVE GLP" MOVEMENT?
The Plan's Goals
The CITYWIDE and/or DISTRICTWIDE Achieve Grade-Level Proficiency Movement (GLP)--paid for by Adopt-a-City or District funding-- can:

- Assist Parents so they are able to help their children. See EDM's below
- GLP improves an area's workforce (Math, Reading, TalentMap)-- District/ Citywide!
Specific Interventions:
1. The Reading, Math, Biology, Physics and Chemistry courses (others coming soon) are taught online using the accelerated learning method called "The LincolnMethod." The method has been proven to ADVANCE STUDENTS' grades by 2 levels (from an F or D to a C or B) within a standard school month.
2. This INTERVENTION also recruits, trains and compensates Education Dads and Moms (EDMs)! EDMs inspire other Dads and Moms to commit to 21st century education (which, of course, is digital) so that their children won't be in the bottom 80%. EDMs are advocates for Parents.
3. Our Certificated ON-LINE TEACHER TRAINNG program (12 hrs long) ensures we have screened and highly qualified tutors/teachers who are working with the students.
4. We have BLOCKCHAIN instruction from pre-school up. Our children cannot be left behind in a data management world that is taking over all tracking systems (banking, money, files, etc.)
5. Monitoring and EVALUATION are built into our tracking protocol. "Achieve Grade-Level Proficiency" can verifiably help youths become Capable Citizens in the 21st Century Digital Learning and Job Environment. Let's do our part.

MY STORY
In 1956 when I was almost 12, I heard the newsman say that the U.S. Supreme Court MADE White kids go to school with Blahk kids. I. was. Devastated. In my mind, obviously my best (White) friend only played with me because he felt pity for me. Pity.
Since my friend lived around the corner, we went through junior and senior high school together. The pain was in my heart that entire time as I tried to smile in his presence.
So, when after graduation I discovered the U.S.' endemic and structured paradigm of racism that underpinned that Court's involvement, I reflected back to when I was 4 yrs old: My family standing outside in the dead of night watching our 2-story home burning to the ground. Years later I found out that my Mom had said "no" when the white woman around the way asked her to be her washerwoman. You can't be too uppity in rural Shreveport, LA.
BeRising is about ensuring Blahk youths learn about their glorious culture and accomplishments so that nothing can cause them to suffer the indignity of "pity" nor shame. Also, we work to ensure access to quality instruction, real-world opportunities and the tech skills necessary to thrive by 2030. While knowledge of one's (true) ancestral history is the key to self-love and confidence, quality education is the key to a good future. The same goes for all students of all races, colors and creeds.
My stint at the Boeing Aerospace Company as Business and Engineering Training Administrator back in the early '70s prepared me--before that and afterwards to today--with the requisite experiences, research and commitment to design this compleat educational smorgasbord: BeRising 2030.
